Happy Cinco de Mayo!
![]()
In honor of Cinco de Mayo, today we’ll explore life at the other bar.
Cadillac Margarita
- 2 oz. Cuervo 1800 tequila (some suggest increasing the tequila significantly)
- 1/2 oz. Grand Marnier
- 2 oz. lime juice
All ingredients poured over ice into a tall mixing glass, shaken briskly, strained into chilled cocktail glass with salted rim (optional). Garnish with lime wheel.
Julie’s Sangria
- 750 ml dry red wine (if you like it sweet, try Arbor Mist blackberry merlot)
- 1/2 bottle Captain Morgan’s spiced rum
- 1/2 – 1 c. orange juice
- Sugar to taste (about 1/2 c.)
- 1 orange, sliced
- About 2 c. raspberries, blueberries, etc. (I use 1 bag of frozen mixed berries and cherries)
Mix the liquids, add the fruit, and allow it to chill for at least 4 hours. Crush the fruit slightly before serving without ice. (And watch out, this isn’t your mama’s sangria!)
Need some food to go with the drinks? Not my thing, but here’s a good link.
Fiesta!
